The Poverty index of Nepal is below 40 and more than 60 % people are below poverty rank in Humla district where as economical development takes the vital role for livelihood improvement, which is only possible through income generating activities. people are not interested and motivated to be involved in the income generating activities due to lack of awareness and financial resource, financial networks though it has many potential sector for income generating activities as horticulture, grocery shop, handicraft, herbs and animal husbandry. Road access is still not linked in the humla district where as income generating activities are not possible without road access and now Sheep, goat and donkey are using for carrying load so income should be possible from this occupation but they are not applying due to limited money though they have interest.
SIDC, its establishment, has been lobbing for road network and united them into the groups for creating capital at locally through regular saving as well as investing the money as a revolving fund to the community for involving in the income generating activities. It has also been linked in to the financial institution, bank and Local Development Fund for the financial ensure and it has been providing knowledge as well as skill oriented trainings including technology transfer for their capacity build up and empowerment partnering with WUPAP, PAF, REDP.
